This study investigates a topic entitled: Asbab Al-Nuzool (Occasions or Circumstances of Revelation) between Investigation and Illusion.

Knowing the occasions and circumstances of revelation of the Quran verses is considered to be the best way to understand the meaning of the Quran; and to reveal the ambiguity that surround the interpretation of some verses.

It also remove the problematic vagueness, resolve the dispute, and helps to recognize the vagueness of the Quran.

Some interpreters, however, elaborated on the reasons of revelation and proved that in their books, but they did not pay attention to the level of the authenticity of these narrations (strong or weak).

This made many people think that Quran Verses were not revealed without occasions.Thus this paper attempts to differentiate between the real occasions of revelation and the illusive ones.

The real occasions of revelation are those based on correct and authentic narrations that are attributed to the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).

The illusive occasions of revelation came from suspect sources.

The researcher tackled some of these narrations and showed that they prove the historical incorrectness of their narrators since these narrations are originally events and stories of old nations and some of them happened in times not contemporary to the time of their narrators.
