The digital economy reflects the transition from the third industrial revolution to the fourth industrial revolution.

The third industrial revolution, sometimes referred to as the digital revolution, refers to the changes that occurred at the end of the twentieth century with the transition from analog electronic and mechanical devices to digital technologies.

The fourth industrial revolution is based on the digital revolution while technologies continue to bridge the physical and cyber worlds.

The main purpose of the article is to shed light on the main theoretical and empirical aspects of the subject, based on previous studies and research carried out in this context, and to assess the integration of digitization into economic activities.

In Algeria, in order to catch up with emerging and developed countries in terms of added value achieved by ICT.

الملخص FRE

L'économie numérique reflète le passage de la troisième révolution industrielle à la quatrième révolution industrielle.

La troisième révolution industrielle, parfois appelée la révolution numérique, fait référence aux changements survenus à la fin du XXe siècle avec la transition des dispositifs électroniques et mécaniques analogiques aux technologies numériques.

La quatrième révolution industrielle s'appuie sur la révolution numérique alors que, les technologies continuent de faire le pont entre les mondes physique et cyber.

L'article a pour objet principal de fournir un éclairage sur les principaux aspects théoriques et empiriques relatifs au sujet, en se basant sur des études et recherches antérieures menées dans ce cadre, ainsi d'évaluer l'intégration de la numérisation dans les activités économiques en Algérie afin de se rattraper le retard par rapport aux pays émergents et développés en termes de valeur ajoutée réalisée par les TIC.
