The present study investigated Al-Khatal City: A Study in its General State until the end of 656 A.

It is an important city with significant geographical position as it lies on the eastern bank of Jehon River "Amodarya" which is regarded as one of the greatest rivers in Khurasan.

Moreover, there were many cities and villages that follow it which reveals that it is a vast city.

It includes a number of rivers that provide Jehon river with water.

All this encouraged its economic prosperity due to agricultural, industrial, and commercial activities.

When Islam reached the city, it was able to refine it until it became an excellent Islamic city as it was integrated with the Islamic State.

This city gave birth to many Prophetic Hadith narrators and historians.

The present study consisted of three chapters.

The first chapter discussed the geography of the city.

The second chapter dealt with Islamic conquer of the city and its political and military affairs.

The third chapter discussed the civilized aspects of the city including administrative, social, economic, and cultural aspects.
