Ministry of Education / Diyala General Directorate of Education The current research aims to identify the effect of the strategy of classification matrix in the achievement of the primary school students / fifth grade in the material of reading and texts.

To achieve this aim, the researcher formulated the following zero hypothesis: There was no statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group and the mean scores of the students of the control group in the post-achievement test.

The researcher adopted the experimental approach as it is the most suitable approach for the aim, hypothesis, nature of the problem and procedures.

The research community is limited to the primary school students in Diyala governorate (fifth graders).

Because of the large size of the researcher's society and because of the nature of the experimental research, which requires the researcher to choose a representative sample for the research society, the researcher chose a sample of the research society and in a deliberate manner and it was two sections of the fifth grade of the primary.

This sample consisted of (60) pupils from Al- Ameen Primary School who were distributed on two sections.

In an intentional manner section (A) was chosen to represent the experimental group and it consisted of (30) pupils, while section (B) was chosen to represent the control group which included (30) pupils as well.

Before the beginning of the experiment, the researcher was keen on conducting the equivalence procedures between the two groups of the research in the variables (pupil's age, the grades of the previous year in the Arabic language and the academic achievements of the pupils' parents).

Then, the researcher prepared the research requirements by defining the scientific material and the behavioral goals for the topics that will be studied by the researcher during the period of the experiment, which adopted the first three levels of the level of knowledge of Bloom's classification.

He prepared the necessary plans for both groups.

The researcher prepared an achievement test for subjects that were studied during the period of the experiment which lasted for the first course of the academic year 2018 -2019.

The test included (20) experimental items of the type of thematic items (multiple choice) as they help the pupils to answer clearly and as they are categorized by the objectivity and economy of time and effort and have high psychometric characteristics.

The researcher verified the validity and consistency of the test by presenting it to a group of experts, using a number of statistical methods and extracting a number of psychometric characteristics of the items of the test by experimenting them with a selected exploratory sample from the community of the research.

Before the end of the period of the experiment, he applied the post achievement test to the experimental and control groups.

After collecting the data and analyzing them statistically by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), the students of the experimental group showed superiority of the experimental group to the students in the control group.

In light of the results of the research, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations to the concerned authorities.
