Abstract: This study aims to know the level of beliefs towards mathematics and their relationship with mathematical thinking skills for Mosul University/ College of Basic Education for Mathematics and Sciences Departments.

The study sample consisted of (37) students from Mathematics and Sciences Departments for the year (2018-2019).

The study tool included the mathematical thinking prepared by the researcher after reading the former studies which consist of (20 items) of multi choices, validity, reliability and distinguishing and also beliefs scale towards mathematics were made (Odah, 2016).

The researcher has used t-test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient to achieve the study aim.

The results showed that the level of mathematical thinking was under medium and there are no significant differences in favor of the specialization variable, also showed that the differences were in favor of females and also showed that the level of beliefs was higher than the hypothetical mean for all the sample individuals.

It was found also that the relationship among the beliefs towards mathematics and thinking have statistical sign for all sample individuals and for Mathematics and Sciences Departments, and in the light of these results, the researcher made a number of recommendations and suggestions.
