The Seljuk era witnessed the imposition of new taxes on society, which were called taxes and confiscations.

It is one of the illegal taxes that are not mentioned in the Sharia.

The Seljuk Sultans and their ministers collected it from the various classes of society in the regions they ruled.

They included the ministers, princes, writers, and the general public that the sultans resorted to either.

They were imposed to cover the expenses of the financial crises, natural disasters, and the expenses of the increasing Seljuk army or the mismanagement of the feudal lords in collecting these funds more than once, which were unstable follow the whims of the sultans, ministers, and cut-offs, as well as collecting them in response to the whims and greed of the sultans and their ministers to obtain a lot of money, some of the Seljuk sultans took advantage of those Financial resources, of which some were imposed on the caliphate in Baghdad, and these taxes were not only the product of the Seljuk era, but there are those who preceded them.

As for the aim of the research, it is to unveil those taxes that society was exposed to during the rule of a group of Seljuk sultans and the extent of its influence on the state and the people and its financial treasury.

The study is divided into an introduction and two sections and conclusion.

As for the first section, it dealt with taxes in the Seljuk era with mentioning some of the taxes that were imposed.

As for the second topic, it dealt with the confiscation tax, and the conclusion included the most prominent results of the research.
