The Syrian civilization is considered as one of the religious civilizations like that kind in ancient Egypt and Iraq.

The role of religion in life in these lands was so great and important politically, economically and socially.

So the myth of creation comes first within the Syrian Mythology in that society.

In Ugarit, people thought that every element in nature was connected with god's life and all things happen according to their will and within their control.

They therefor had considered that there was an influence and effect of gods upon their life directly.

Moreover, they thought that there was a conflict among gods themselves on one hand and between gods and mankind on the other hand.

The conflict of gods had effected the human life when gods participated people in their daily life.

Then the relation between gods and mankind becomes helpful and normal if man respects and pleases his gods and vice versa.

In addition, man felt his need of gods' help and sympathy whenever there was danger or weakness in his life.

But this required man's obedience and respect in order to win their favor and assistance.

This matter required also that man should offer sacrifices for gods and this would please them and win their mercy, help and sympathy.

What is important regarding the theme of our topic is that the idea of conflict among gods, or between man and gods arises from the thought that the life of gods was eternal.

And this means that their features, adjectives, powers, , race as well as their functions were eternal as well, and thus had an influence on man as gods did from time to time.

Of course the gods were, as people, struggling each other to win power and defeat the weak gods to be the master of the situation on earth.

This religious feature of gods was almost the same in Syria, Iraq and Egypt.
