Membranous subaortic stenosis is a congenital anomaly usually combined with bicuspid aortic valve.

The vast majority of patients will undergo an operation either for the membrane or the valve or both.

This usually happens in early adulthood.

We present a 50 year old woman with such a double congenital anomaly and minimal symptoms.

Her heart has a normal systolic and diastolic function and the aortic valve is neither stenotic nor regurgitant despite the 40mmHg gradient at the LVOT and the bicuspid morphology of the valve.
