This study consists of four chapters with a list of sources and research appendices.

The first chapter, explores the methodological framework of the research, in which the two researchers addressed the research problem, which dealt with the detection of the expressive costume and rhythm, which are considered one of the most important artistic elements that have contents and connotations of different shapes and colors in building a theatrical performance that achieves the identity of the costumes and rhythm.

In addition, both elements define the dramatic nature context and whether it is a comedy or tragedy for the children as an audience.

The costumes represent dramatic dimensions in terms of being social, realistic, or imaginative, and they are related to the contents of the show and they are the most merged arts in the acting capacity.

Additionally, the time boundaries are from 2016 to 2017, and the location of the study is the National Theater in Baghdad.

The second chapter is the literature review, which consists of three topics.

The first one presents the status of the costume and the factors affecting the expression of the theatrical costume in terms of simplicity and complexity.

The second topic discovers the theatrical display elements, and explores its relationship to the actor, sound effects and techniques, stage lighting, decoration and makeup.

The third topic deals with the rhythm's expression in the children's theater and the types of audio and visual rhythms.

The third chapter, the study procedures, has identified the descriptive analytical approach, acknowledged the research community and selected an intentional sample that reflected accurate and detailed description of a theatrical presentation in all its aspects, especially analyzing the extent of the costume and rhythm relationship, and the role of characters on the stage.

In addition, learn about techniques of costumes in line with the data of the presentation, leading to the results that the study envisages in the analysis process.

The study relied on the following research tools: A: Indicators of literature review, B: Personal interviews C: Pictures and d: compact discs (CDs).

The fourth chapter includes the results based on the goal of the study, followed by a list of sources, appendices, the study, and its title in English
