The research aims to know the extent of dependence on electronic sources in theses and university theses compared to traditional sources and the extent of dependence on electronic sources in university theses and theses in human studies compared to scientific studies, and what websites are most cited in human and scientific studies and the researcher relied on the descriptive approach (Survey Method) The documentary approach to achieving its goals.

The research community was represented by theses and university theses, Department of Architectural Engineering - College of Engineering and Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences - College of Education Ibn Rushd / University of Baghdad for the years (2008-2017).

The research sample represented (100) theses and theses for each department.

Among the most important findings of the research: Relying on paper-based (traditional) sources for writing theses and postgraduate theses for the Faculties of Engineering and Ibn Rushd of the University of Baghdad is more than relying on electronic sources.

And the use of electronic sources in writing scientific studies for the College of Architecture more than using it in writing human studies for the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Humanities.

The number of citations for electronic sources for sites that carry the commercial domain (.

com) more than other sources that carry the government domain (.

org) And educational (.

edu ).

This confirms the hypotheses that came with the research.

Among his recommendations is to direct graduate students to the importance of diversity in the use of traditional and electronic information sources and focus on originality and source of information and its novelty.

Specifying a single (electronic information sources) within the vocabulary of the subject of scientific research taught for the master's and doctoral level for graduate students in Iraqi universities.
