The social customs of water use are the key concept to interpreting how Algerians think and how do they tend to adapt in an environment dominated by belief and superstition.

Indeed, these customs continued to exist from generation to another via socialization.

Sometimes, they become practices characterized by tradition without knowing its real direction to protect the follower or a member of his family.

In order to achieve the objectives of the study was based on the descriptive approach, comparative approach, and anthropological approach, apply the observation and interview tool.

The study found the appearance: The folk rituals of the two municipalities show the use of water for bathing ritual, water sprinkling, as cites, marriage and circumcision, religious ceremonies; spinster woman, and traveling...etc.

These behaviors remain a social heritage that link the past to the present to forms the identity of the society.

الملخص FRE

Les coutumes sociales de d'utilisation de l’eau sont la clé de la mentalité algérienne et de sa tendance à l’adaptation dans un environnement dominé par la croyance et la superstition.

Ces coutumes sont continues et se transfèrent d’une génération à une autre et devenaient parfois des pratiques imprimées par la tradition sans connaitre la direction réelle de la prévention ou des dommages à l’imitateur ou à un membre de sa famille.

Pour atteindre les objectifs, l’approche descriptive, l’approche comparative, l’approche anthropologique ont été adoptés dans cette étude.

Une observation et un entretien ont été utilisés .L’étude a montré les résulta suivants : Les rituels folkloriques des deux municipalités montrent l’utilisation de l’eau pour le baignade, l’aspersion d’eau, les ascites, le mariage, la circoncision rituelle, les cérémonies religieuses, veille fille, les voyages… .

Les coutumes restent un héritage social liant le passé au présent afin qu’il forme l’identité de la société dans laquelleil s’est produit.
