The private banks in Iraq face many challenges, the most important ofwhich is competition from government banks, which made the role of thesebanks in providing services limited despite the great development in most oftheir indicators during the period 2012-2018, and thus all attempts to grow anddevelop and provide a better role for the various sectors of the economy arediscouraged, so The study aimed to analyze financial and banking indicators Forprivate banks, based on the assumption that bank consolidation can be animportant tool for reforming the Iraqi banking system because it creates largebanking entities that lead to raising the indicators of the efficiency of integratedbanks such as high profitability, low costs, management efficiency, increasing thenumber of branches, and thus increasing the market values of their shares inaddition to reducing risks.

The study reached a set of conclusions, the mostimportant of which was that most private banks in Iraq have the ability tointegrate because of the large capital they possess and a significant developmentin the growth rates of their financial and monetary indicators to become largebanking entities that raise the indicators of the efficiency of these banks and
