الملخص الإنجليزي

The experiment was carried out at two locations: the first one at the farm of agriculture and forestry college-Mosul Univ., whereas the other one was done at Badoosh dam during the growing season of 2017-2018, in clay and sandy loam soil respectively.

The aim of the research was to study the effect of four phosphorus levels (0 , 50 , 100 and 150 kg P2O5/ha) and three seeding rates (30 , 40 and 50 kg/ha) on the growth and yield of flax.

The experiment was arranged in randomized complete block design with three replicates.

The results that there was a significant superiority in following characters: plant height, No.

of capsules/plant, weight of 1000 seed, plant yield, seed yield, oil percentage and oil yield were recorded from phosphorus fertilizer 100 kg P2O5/ha for both locations.

Increasing seeding rates from 30 to 50 kg/ha decreased No.

of capsule/plant, weight of 1000 seed and plant yield, where seed yield, oil percentage and oil yield increased significantly at seeding rate 50 kg/ha for both locations.

The interaction between 100 kg P2O5/ha and seeding rate (50kg/ha) gave a high significant values seed and oil yield for both locations.
