The study aims at probing the effectiveness of projects-based-teaching and seminars in developing scientific research skills and systemic thinking among a sample of students of Geography, Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University.

To achieve the purpose of the current study, the researcher developed and used a number of instruments, namely, an achievement test, a performance observation card, a rubric to score the research projects and the systematic thinking test.

The researcher also developed material which included an inventory of scientific research skills and another of systematic thinking skills to be met by the student teachers.

This is in addition to treatment material which included two manuals for the project-based teaching and seminar to guide the instructor.

The study was carried out over 11 weeks.

The sample of the study comprised 60 students teachers divided into two groups, one experimental group (30 students) a control group (30 students).

The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students in the experimental and control groups in the post-application of the achievement tests as well as in the post application of the observation card in favor of the students of the experimental group.

The results also indicated Statistical significance differences between the mean scores of students in the experimental and control groups, in the post-application of the systematic thinking test in favor of the experimental based on the results obtained.
