The current study investigates (the aesthetics of light in the drawings of the European Renaissance) and its visual nature that deeply influences the spectator mind.

As they form a true interactional reality through which the beauty of entities is revealed by their colored imagery and their interactive moves towards showing their artistic values where they combine to produce a pattern of relationships and structural elements that contribute to (the artist’s consciousness) as well as the formation of creative vision that is reflected through the enriched color in the eye of the viewer.

The problem of the present work is addressed by the following two questions: Does the light aesthetically affect the Renaissance drawings? And how does this influence embody the plastic elements of the paintings of Renaissance artists? Accordingly, the study is divided into four chapters.

The first chapter comprises defining the problem of study, its importance and the need for it, and the study aim which is summarized in (the recognition of the aesthetics of light in the drawings of the European Renaissance).

Then the limits of work and the definitions of terms included in the study.

As for the second chapter that tackles the theoretical framework of the work.

It has been divided into two sections: The first approaches (light between the trends of science and aesthetic vision).

While, the second section is concerned with (the dialectics of light and composing elements / formation elements).

The second chapter also includes theoretical framework indicators.

The third chapter includes the study procedures, from the framework of the study community, the study sample, the study tool, its validity and persistence, work methodology, statistical methods and analysis of the study sample.

The fourth chapter sums up the results of the study as well as a number of findings arrived at by the researcher, including: Light is the basis in the presentation of the assets (material objects) and structural elements (formation elements) through which the planned subject is completed.

The aesthetics of light were associated with the expressive and dramatic force that influence the eye of the viewer, which the artist gave to the work of art through his style and skill, and his outstanding skill in employing the formation parameters and aesthetic values as well as transforming them into visually influential actors.

The aesthetics of light are reflected in the color values, richness, brightness and reflections on the surfaces of the objects and their tangible differences.

The chapter also presents the conclusions of the study along with a number of conclusions including: Light does have an active and influential presence in the ancient civilizations, as it seems to coincide with the emergence of the Renaissance and which has included light of the field of experimentation and analysis.

Light has been considered as the basis in showing the systems of composition of the general assets and elements of the painting especially, to aesthetic values enriching the subject matter and highlighting it.

Light is a language of visualized speech that has shown important transformations in form, color, line, proportions and perspective, as well as to show the themes of fantasy, formal values and meanings.
