That academic steadfastness is an important and vital factor in the personality that must be emphasized in future research so that it becomes clearer and develops from the level of people to the level of its use in the institutions and therapeutic and extension centers so as to be widely used in the development and selection of people with high steadfastness in special tasks in various fields; It also has a positive impact on family systems, marital disputes, disease behavior and stress.

It is also necessary to examine the development of steadfastness through life and linking it to the achievement of goals.

Endurance is a personal journey.

Individuals do not respond to pressure and shocks in the same way and may be effective for someone and ineffective for someone else.

They may use a variety of ways to counter these pressures according to the cultural differences between the individuals.

The individual culture may be clear in its expressions and emotions in dealing with situations and problems.

The importance of students' academic steadfastness as follows: 1.

Identify the level of academic steadfastness among university students.

2.

Identify the level of academic steadfastness among university students according to the variable of specialization (scientific – human).

3.

Identify the level of academic steadfastness among university students according to the gender variable (male – female).

The study sample consisted of (260) male and female students from the University of Tikrit.

They were chosen randomly from the original community (3726) and by (7% ) divided into scientific and humanitarian colleges and males and females each with 130 students.

On the basis of their views, some paragraphs were deleted because they got a percentage less than the accepted standard.

The researcher adopted a percentage of agreement (80% ) or more to determine the validity of the paragraph.

Having analyzed the opinions of the arbitrators on the validity of the paragraphs of the measure and extract honesty, discrimination and consistency of the paragraphs and the research reached the following results: 1.

University students have the academic steadfastness to face problems and tribulations at a high level and with an average of (180.27).2.

It has been shown that students of humanities colleges have academic steadfastness higher than scientific colleges.3.

Students of the University for the measure of academic steadfastness better than the university students.
