The importance of the Arab Peninsula increased and became one of the focuses of the writers is the classical period.Their writings formed detailed and subjective investigations on the conditions of the Arab.

Plinius was one of those writers who take care of the Arab peninsula and in his writings through his book (The Natural History) as writing about Arab Peninsula in details, he divided the book into two parts: the first discusses the areas, sites, trade roads and described the tops, gulfs and mountains and trade roads in the Arab Peninsula, in addition to distances between some cultural centers.

The second section investigates the perfume and spices of Arab Peninsula including perfumes and aromatic spices Gum (incense) and bitter and he talks about the trees of perfumes, harvesting seasons in addition to the ways of extraction.

The research will study and analyses the writing of Plinius to determine the types of perfumes, roles and uses in the ancient world societies and concentrating on the role and remarkability of the Arab in Incense trading where they occupied a remarkable position before the middle of the third century BC, where its production and export was an important resource of their richness.
