Place of study: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-Islamic University in Madinah-Institute of teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers.

Research Objectives: The objective of the research is as follows: 1- To determine the basis for selecting the appropriate syntactic grammar for the learners of Arabic language among the non-native speakers.

2- To determine the grammatical topics that can be presented in Arabic language programs for non-Arabic speakers.

3- To develop a proposed idea to teach Syntax (Grammar) functionally in the Language Preparation Program at the Institute for the teaching of Arabic language to non-native speakers at the Islamic University in Madinah.

To achieve these goals, the researchers used the descriptive approach, two tools: two questionnaires .

The results were as follows: 1- The list of the bases for selecting the appropriate syntactic grammar for the learners of Arabic language among the non-native speakers is up to (27) after arbitration.

2- A final list of the grammatical subjects that can be presented in the programs of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, reached (9 4) subjects after arbitration, and divided into four levels.

3- A proposed concept to teach Syntax (Grammar) functionally in the Language Preparation Program at the Institute for the teaching of Arabic Language for Non-Speakers at the Islamic University in Madinah after it has been authorized.

The study also arrived at several recommendations and proposals.
