Within the informal sector of developing countries, it is easy to find employment especially due to the lack of licenses granted by the governmental authorities.

The less technically trained and experienced workers would resort to the informal sector simply for survival, with little gender distinction.

While international concern for knowing the informational sector dates from the 1970s.

the study in Syria ciwnmenced in the 1990s.

Yet, most studies have ignored women even though they represent a majority of the work force.

This article addresses the lack of accurate statistical Information on women and wages in the informal, rural sector and addresses theoretical models and ideological concepts explaining the location of paid work outside of the domestic sphere.
