The study aimed to identify the importance of social service education in developing the professional identity of social workers in Bethlehem Governorate from the viewpoint of social workers according to gender, age, educational qualification, field of work, work sector and work experience.

The researchers used the descriptive analytical method because of its suitability for the purposes of the study, where a questionnaire of two parts was designed to collect data.

The first part contains (25) paragraphs and the second one contains (11) paragraphs.

The tool was verified the validity and stability and then distributed to the members of the study sample.

The results showed that the highest averages were about that social service education played an important role in making the social worker committed to professional ethics.

The results showed that there are no statistically significant differences in the importance of social work education in developing the professional identity of social workers from their point of view in Bethlehem governorate due to gender, age, educational qualification, field of work, work sector, work experience.

Through the results of the study, the researchers reached a number of recommendations 1.

Reviewing the methods of preparing and rehabilitating social workers through assessing the reality of teaching the social service, developing curricula and methods of teaching and training, and qualifying teachers and training supervisors, in order to provide the students with the knowledge, skills and ethics that make them eligible for the general practice of social service in its various fields.

Creating an ethical constitution adopted by the social service institutions in Palestine.

It will be formulated in a clear and specific language based on practical reality.

So the social workers swear to abide by it before they start work.

Anyone who violates the constitution will be held accountable, giving the social worker the opportunity to modify his behavior according to terms.

Introducing the subject of the professional identity of the social worker in the preparation and training of specialists during and before they start social service.

Prepare training programs to raise the level of professional identity of the social worker and study its impact on the practical side.
