الملخص EN

The aim of this study is to understand the effect of psychological stress on Epileptic patients and its correlations with some variants; such as gender, level of epileptic seizure.The research relied on analytical descriptive study.

The study sampled Epileptic patients in the Wad medani mental health Teaching Hospital, 150 patients were included in the study.

Data was collected using measurement of psychological stress and analysed with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).

Results were presented in percentage, tables and other statistical forms of data processing.

The results proved that there were statistical differences in the psychological stresses of Epileptic patients in the area of the variants (as gender, level of epileptic seizure).

The study recommended that Epileptic patients should be given better care in a form of psychological health Education and to raise their awareness about how to deal with psychological stresses and about the strategies of how to manage it through training programmes.

These programmes are to be carried out by proficient psychologist and experts in the field.
