دراسة تصنيفية للفصيلة النجيلية Poaceae في مدينة الخمس-ليبيا

The goal of this research was to study the family Poaceae in the city of AL Khums to identify species belong to this family because this region did not get extensive taxonomic study, although the collection and field trips of Libyan plants began since the last quarter of the eighteenth century through European expeditions, but many sites have not been visited and no significant plant collection have been made yet due to the vast area of the country, this facts are confirmed from time to time by new species recorded from different parts of the country, from this point of view we chose the subject of this research because the city of AL Khums is also one of the areas that did not have the intensive taxonomic study of its flora and we chose this family because it is one of the largest families and it is of great economic importance.

The plant specimens included in this paper were collected from different sites in the city for about 10 months from 1/9/2018 until 1/7/2019.

this study results in the collection of (55) plant species belonging to (38) genera, only (23) plant species mentioned within the region in Flora of Libya and (32) plant species collected in this study and did not mention their presence within the region in Flora of Libya, some plants have mentioned their presence in the region and were not collected in this study about (5) plants, this collection is considered an addition to Flora of AL Khums city.
