During the period 2007-2017, national natural gas consumption grew rapidly at an annual rate of 5%, on the other hand, national natural gas production is relatively stable.

The exploitation of shale gas could be an alternative choice to curb the continued fall in gas exploration, knowing that Algeria is in third position globally in terms of unconventional gas reserves (Council, 2016).

Thus, this work will aim to assess the contribution of the development of shale gas to GDP and national income.

Three scenarios are being studied for 2040, compared to the American production model.

In addition, sensitivity studies with respect to the price of natural gas at the cost of operating the gas shale were presented.

الملخص FRE

Durant la période 2007-2017, la consommation nationale du gaz naturel a évolué rapidement à un rythme annuel de 5%, d'un autre coté la production nationale du gaz naturel est relativement stable.

L'exploitation du gaz de schiste pourrait être un choix alternatif pour freiner la chute continue des explorations gazières, sachant que l'Algérie est en troisième position à l'échelle mondiale en terme des réserves du gaz non conventionnel (Council, 2016).

Ainsi, ce travail aura pour objectif d'évaluer la contribution du développement du shale gaz au PIB et au revenu national.

Trois scenarios sont étudiés à l'horizon 2040, par rapport au modèle de production américain.

En plus, des études de sensibilité par rapport au prix de gaz naturel au coût de revient d'exploitation du shale gaz ont été présentées.
