The current study aims to uncover the types of environmental problems that the urban environment suffers from, and to identify the role of religious and environmental awareness in preserving the environment, as well as religious awareness in light of the Corona pandemic, and to achieve these goals, the study relied on the descriptive approach, and also used the questionnaire tool to apply it.

On a sample of 201 young people in Talkha city, the study reached many results, including that third world cities suffer from many environmental problems, foremost among which are: Over-urbanization, Pollution, Unemployment, Slums, which are degraded.

The basic infrastructure is completely devoid of basic services, the low standard of living for its residents, and the social, cultural and economic conditions in it to a large extent.

And the consequent prevalence of crimes and the practice of behavior.

The results of the study also indicated that members of society in general and youth in particular have positive attitudes towards protecting the environment and its issues, represented by expressing a desire to participate and the majority rejecting negative behavior and human practices harmful to the environment, not to mention the perception through which the role of community members in the field of protection can be strengthened.

The urban environment and its development through the interest on the part of officials, government institutions and civil bodies, environmental participation through preparing seminars and holding religious conferences that deal with the environment, its issues and the problems it faces, with a focus on the importance of the social and cultural factors that cause these problems and clarify the consequent disadvantages and negative effects that harm life Community members and threaten their future.

There is no doubt that this increases environmental awareness, supports proper behavior towards the environment, and deepens belonging to society and the surrounding environment on the part of members of society as a whole.
