Abstract: The subject of research studies Imām Marwān bin Muḥammad Al- Ṭāṭarī Al-Dimashqī as a Ḥadīth narrator and critic.

It aims to introduce him, highlight his scholarly status, explaining his critical methodology, and collecting his narratives in six compilation of Ḥadīth by indicating their number, their sources and their level of authenticity.

The research addressed the criticism directed toward of Imam Ṭāṭarī, and further responded about the Muhaddith who refuted him.

These criticisms should not be taken into consideration since he is a reliable Imām of Ḥadīth and his status is endorsed by most of the senior Imāms and critics of Ḥadīth.

The research concluded several results, the most prominent are as follow: Imam Marwan Al-Tatri obtained (Hadith) from numerous Sheikhs (most senior Imāms of Ḥadīth) in different countries.

However, most of them were from the Region of Levant.

Further, he was an Imam and critic of Ḥadīth, al-Hafiz al-Zahabi mentioned him with those who are reliable in relation to the Jarh and Tadīl, and he named him with Ibn Mahdi and Affan bin Muslim and others Huffaz Hadith.

Imam Marwan has critical views which highlighted aspects of his approach to criticize and these views manifested through his critic position.

His narrations in the six books are (33) Hadiths, four of them are in Sahīh Muslim, 10 in Abu Daoud, 6 in Al Nasai and 13 in Sunan Ibn Majah
