الأسباب المؤدية لعدم اجتياز المتدربين لمتطلبات برنامج المعلمين الجدد بالمعهد التخصصي للتدريب المهني للمعلمين

This study aimed to find out why trainee teachers were not able to meet the requirements of the new Omani teachers’ program at the Specialized Institute for the Professional Training of Teachers in the Sultanate of Oman.

Following a descriptive analytical methodology, the study used mixed research methods through using questionnaires and semi - structure interviews on two different samples.

The questionnaire sample consisted of (42) trainees who do not pass the program and the semi - structure interviews were done with another sample of (22) trainees to get in - depth data about the investigated topic.

The study found that the reasons for trainees› failure to meet the program requirements can be classified into personal reasons related to trainees themselves, reasons related to the training program, and reasons related to their schools.

Based on the findings, the study recommends the need to include training for new teachers to develop their skills in time management, planning and motivating students to learn.

The study further recommends revising the administrative and organizational procedures followed in the new Omani teachers› program, as well as providing support for trainees at schools.
