Exegetes have examined the thematic correspondence between the end of Q 50 and the beginning of Q 51, the end of Q 51 and the beginning of Q 52, and so on with successive surah 53.

However, this method does not illustrate the connection between Q 53 and the previous surahs Q 50-51.

Al-Rāzῑ links between all of them because of the oaths while al-Biqā'ῑ notices how they are connected through the aims of the surahs.

Al-Farāhī and Islaḥῑ go further by grouping the surahs and linking their themes.

Islaḥῑ adds the notion of surah-pairing and shows how Q 50 and Q 51 are a pair as Q 52 and Q 53 is a pair.

All these methods attempt to connect the surahs and they should be examined to comprehend the unity of the Qur'ān and to understand the order of the surahs in the muṣḥaf.

This article studies the thematic and rhetorical/linguistic between surahs 50-53 by employing ring-theory and surah-pairing notion.

It shows first that the two successive surahs can be paired.

Then, it demonstrates that those surahs can be grouped and arranged in a symmetrical shape as AB/'B'A.

Those surahs state the themes of monotheism and revelation in different and corresponding contexts explaining matters like the Unseen, prophecy, punishment in this world and resurrection and accountability in the Hereafter.
