Many countries began to adopt policies and applications of e-government to facilitate and develop the services provided to the public.

As part of this, the government institutions and organizations are responsible to establish “a continuous training program for its staff to provide them with adequate knowledge and skills for the electronic records management.

In the United States, the federal records training program of the National Archives & Records Administration (NARA) provides comprehensive and effective instructions for the federal records managers using a variety of tools and techniques to facilitate access to federal records, and protection of legal rights.

This study aims to document the experience of the US National Archives “NARA” in training on electronic records management (programs objectives, content, training tools & techniques, ....).

The study explores also the types and contents of the electronic records management programs in other National Archives (ex.

United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, India, Egypt, Iraq, Oman, Tunisia) to enrich the study results, from which the Arab National Archives could benefit in planning training programs and ongoing development of electronic records managers.
