This study is intended to identify justifications of and impediments to enhancing scientific research in a bid to overcome security challenges.

With that end in view, study conceptualizes ways of enhancing scientific research to curtail security threats in line with KSA’s 2030 vision.

Descriptive method was adopted; a questionnaire was used as an appropriate research tool.

The questionnaire was administered to (51) faculty members of Naif - Arab University for Security Sciences.

Findings have shown key rationales for and impediments to enhancing security- related scientific research as well as ways of removing such obstacles by means of a scientific conception aligned with KSA’s 2030 vision.

Major among the reasons for enhancing security-related scientific research was the emergence of new crimes like organized and trans- border crimes.

Key impediment to conducting security- related research and holding relevant scientific conferences and symposia was the lack of finance by private sector.

According to findings, the most effective mechanism for overcoming security research- related impediments and curtailing security threats in line with KSA’s 2030 vision was the strategic future plans of security - oriented scientific research.

Study findings stressed the paramount importance of scientific research for security institutions staff in curbing new crimes.

They further highlighted the importance of cooperation between security institutions and bodies concerned with the implementation of KSA’s 2030 vision on providing requirements for promoting security research to curtail security threats.

Study recommended that strategic future approach be adopted in security research, stressing the importance of the future conception put forward by this study for security institutions; bodies concerned with the implementation of KSA’s 2030 vision and research centers, in promoting scientific research to address security challenges.
