The Obligations & Contracts Law is considered as a central text in the Moroccan legal system.

It has accompanied the economic, social, political and legal developments that Morocco has experienced throughout the 20th century.

But during the last 20 years, the Moroccan legislator has enacted a series of laws regarding business activities, aiming to frame and regulate business relationships.

This had a great impact on Moroccan civil laws, especially on the Obligations & Contracts Law.

The concepts and requirements of the latter were influenced by the emergence of a set of new legal concepts and business laws that gradually reduced the scope of its application and isolated it amid the Moroccan legal system.
