Web sites have occupied a wide range of interests of the public, especially after the proliferation of smart devices, such as smart phones (mobile) and iPad, which provided many electronic services, it is possible to obtain information at the touch of a finger, and the services provided by these devices, Such as social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), the audience accepted these sites in order to keep them informed about the events and the acquisition of knowledge, and access to information in general, especially the youth category and this is one of the most important reasons for the choice of researcher for this topic, This study started from a major question (the extent to which Iraqi university students rely on social networking sites for access to information).

This research is descriptive research, the researcher has relied on the survey method through the preparation of a questionnaire; to obtain information on the extent of university students on social networking sites, the sample was a simple random among the students of the University of Baghdad.
