الملخص EN

The study aimed to identify the reality of school performance evaluation and presenting a suggested concept for developing school performance evaluation in the cycle two schools of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman in light of the TQM approach.

The study used the descriptive approach.

The study sample consisted of a group of principals and assistants representing five educational governorates.

The study sample consisted of (288) principals and (391) assistant principals.

A five scale questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data and information related to the study.

The results showed that the degree of approval to the reality of the evaluation of school performance in the light of the TQM approach ranged from large to medium.

It was found that the total score obtained a large approval score and an average of (3.33) and an agreement rate (66.6%).

This result generally indicates the perception of the respondents that there are challenges and difficulties related to the evaluation of school performance in cycle two schools in the Sultanate of Oman.

The study presented a proposed concept to develop the evaluation of school performance in the light of total quality approach.

It also presented a set of recommendations and suggestions for subsequent studies.
