In addition to that France has taken a direction in the European Union that works for the development of Arab-European relations, the result of which was the Barcelona conference pact in 1995 and its clear attitude concerning the events inside the Palestinian territories in 2000, the stumbling of peace process, the events of September 11, 2001, the siege of President Yasser Arafat, and the American- Israeli demand to delegitimize him and then his death in 2004.
