The research aimed to analyze human capital indicators in economic growth in the environment of the Iraqi economy for the period (2004-2017), and to know the relationship between human capital indicators and economic growth.

The results of the study showed that the indicators of human capital contribute (13% ) to changes in the rate of growth of gross domestic product in the Iraqi economy, It is very weak in the Iraqi economy as a result of the lack of interest in modern technological developments in the productive processes in the Iraqi economy, the low percentage of spending on research and development and the weak investment in the field of education and health, and that the percentage (87% ) is due to the contribution of other factors in the interpretation of GDP growth, especially The largest part of it is due to revenues from oil rents, as they constitute approximately (70% ) of the gross domestic product and about (93% ) of Iraqi exports.

The most important recommendations presented by the study are the result of weak indicators of human capital in economic growth in Iraq, due to the lack of awareness of political and economic decision makers of the importance of human capital and lack of interest in relying on modern technology, and this requires decision makers to create a workforce capable of using the technology developed Via Focusing on investing in human capital through the investment process in education, health, and research and development, in order to reach owners who are able to add value to the gross domestic product because of its prominent impact on the growth of economic growth.
