The research dealt with the Abbasid lamentation poem between lyricism and drama, dividing the poem of lamentation in the Abbasid era into three sections: a lyric poem (sentimental), a dramatic second, and a third between the lyric and the dramatic.

Among the research is how the poem of lamentation expresses the poet's own feelings and the convulsions of himself and the sorrow and pain he experiences, as the voice of the poet is prominent in this type of poems.

The research also showed how the poem of dramatic lamentation depicts the scenes of events and moves the recipient from a mere listener or reader to scenes that live inside the poetic text as if he sees events before him through dramatic photography, because in the dramatic lamentation the voice of the poet disappears behind the voice of the narrator, the poet does not appear but shows the hero (al-Murthi) dominating the incidents and facts contained in the poem, and this color approaches the epic poetry.

The research also revealed what the third type of poems cannot be considered lyrical, because the dramatic features are prominent in them, and we cannot prepare them purely dramatic, because passion and conscience are essential.

The poet's voice varies between appearance and disappearance, as the poet portrays the viewer at times, and expresses his feelings of sadness and pain at other times, so he put the search between the lyric and the dramatic.

The purpose of this research is to explain the sections of the poem of lamentation in Abbasid poetry, and the reader's standing at those sections.
