This study aimed to determine the degree of commitment among faculty members of the Art and Science faculty at Al Ahliyya Amman University to the basic rules in the construction of objective tests of 4 various types; true or false, filling the blank, multiple choice questions, comparison question.

And weather the commitment degree is affected by different variables like years of experience and speciality.

The study sample consisted of 41 faculty members, who were chosen intentionally from different specialties in the art and science faculty of the 2017/2018 academic year.

The researchers developed a tool to measure the degree of commitment to the basic rules in constructing objective tests; the tool was validated and consistent with the purpose of this study, then it was distributed to the study sample to collect data.

This study used the analytic descriptive method to achieve the goals of the study and answer it's questions.

The results showed that the degree of commitment to the basic rules in constructing objective tests among faculty members in al Ahliyya Amman University in total is within the high degrees, with the highest degree to the filling the blank questions , followed with false and true questions , then multiple choice question in the 3rd degree , while the comparison questions came in the 4rth and last degree, and there were no statistically significant difference due to study variables.

The study recommends the importance of encouraging the faculty members to use objective tests, and to train and coach them to increase their competence in building and phrasing objective tests
