The aim of the study was to identify the effect of the rumor through social Media on the occurrence of violence in Jordanian society from the point of view of the teachers in ALKarak governorate.

In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire was distributed to convenient a sample of the teachers of Karak governorate, with a total of 276 teachers, used appropriate statistical methods in order to answer the questions of the study.

The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: There was a significant statistical impact of rumor through the social media in the occurrence of violence in the Jordanian society from the point of view of teachers in Karak governorate.

The degree of confidence of the teachers in AL Karak governorate with the information published on the social media sites came at a medium rating.

The results showed the factors of using social media, the most important of which are: knowledge of local and international news and events at the time of their occurrence, and benefit from the information they provide in the field of education, exchange experiences with colleagues, communicate with the local community, find solutions to some problems, and entertainment.

The study showed the propagation factors of rumor, the most important of which are: lack of control over information published, ease of publication through social media sites, the ease of creating unrealistic sites on the social media platforms, the provision of communication services and the availability of social media to the majority of the members of the community, Competing news sites, which publish information.

The most important effects of rumor spread through social media sites: disturbance of social relations, misleading public opinion and drowning in conversations to divert attention from facts, high rates of community violence, poor trust in others, high divorce rates, influence on prevailing relationships, provoking strife and sectarianism (for racism and regionalism), and encouraging individuals to rebel against the rule of law.

The results revealed the methods of confronting rumor through social media sites, the most important of which are: ensure the selection of groups and people, verify and validate the published news, increase the punishment of those who propagate rumors through social media, ignore anonymous news, and punishment double.

There is no statistically significant differences in the views of teachers in Karak governorate towards the impact of rumor through social media sites in the occurrence of violence due to the variables: gender, degree, and years of experience.

The study reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: that the family, the school, the mosque, the various media and government agencies have an active role in confronting the rumor.
