The press began in this city in more than a hundred years ago, and it varied greatly that included most forms of literature and knowledge, due to what was known about the people of Karbala about their love for science and culture and their inclination towards literature and poetry.

The Karbala press succeeded in spite of its suffering from several problems, but it presented the problems and concerns of the city, and left us historical testimonies that no researcher of the modern and contemporary political, economic, and social history of Karbala can indispensable.
