1-Knowing the level of self-deception of middle school students.2- Identifying the degree of defeatist behavior of middle school students.3-Identify the nature of the correlation between self-deception and defeatist behavior among middle school students.

The research sample consisted of (120) male and female students.

A questionnaire was prepared to find out the level of self-deception and a questionnaire was prepared to find out the degree of defeatist behavior.

The following results were shown: 1- Having a high degree of self-deception.2- The defeatist behavior is above average.3- There is a positive and statistically significant correlation between self-deception and defeatist behavior among middle school students.

From these results the researcher made a number of recommendations and suggestions, including: The researcher recommends activating the role of educational counseling in schools by monitoring and diagnosing every disgraceful behavior and seeking to solve problems wisely and scientifically, and working on holding scientific and guiding seminars to discuss the behavioral disorders that some students suffer and clarify the reasons for their emergence, ways to reduce them and ways to treat them.

The researcher suggests conducting a study to investigate the reasons behind students' resorting to self-deception and their tendency to self-defeating behavior
