The role of scientific quotations in the communication field has not been directly addressed in studies and research from the perspective of the specialization of information science, as well as the issue of analyzing the communicative situations that characterize the quotations and reference citations, compared to other communication channels.

Therefore, this study aims to Attempt to uncover the nature and forms of the communicative attitudes that researchers take during the communication process.

To reach objective conclusions in this regard, a group of letters and theses in the field of information and libraries were analyzed, as it was found that the presence of indicators of communicative positions in quotations and reference citations in the letters and theses subject of study was often not intended, but rather came randomly, as evidence The presence of many quotes from which the researcher could have had a communicative position has been neglected.

In conclusion, the study presented a set of recommendations, including the necessity to focus on this topic in scientific research books as well as scientific literature and productions on the scientific communication field.
