Pragmatic linguistics studies language in use, as it examines the conditions for the success of speech, and its achievement of its goal in the communicative position, and the theory of speech actions is one of its most important axes.

This research seeks to reveal the pragmatic dimension in the poetic discourse of Ramadan Hammoud, by extracting speech actions, and showing their types, purposes and achievement power, by working on John Searle's classification of speech actions, namely: affirmations, directives, expressions, obligations, and declarations.
