This research by study and analysis deals with the duality of proximity and distance and its manifestations in the language.

It aimed to clarify the concept of the duality of proximity and distance in terms of linguistic and terminology, in addition to the linguistic terms related to this duality.

The research also focuses on the duality manifestations included in the language levels: phonetic, grammatical, morphological, and how the scientists took it as a tool to direct and explain its uses, as it from one hand stands out in the explanation of phonetic issues such as the phonemic exchanges due to the similarity in articulation and features, and on the other hand in the explanation of morphological issues in terms of substitution, explanation and morphological deletion, and it emerged strongly in the field of grammatical explanations in terms of spatial proximity, moral proximity, temporal proximity and other.

Also, despite the abundance, prevalence and availability of this duality in books and linguistic sources, it had not that much interest by scientists in terms of authorship, and it was disparate among scientists in terms of employment, and this is due to the difference of the use method among them.

This research uses the descriptive analytical method as a tool in the study
