The study aimed to measure the effectiveness of using the augmented reality technology in the development of skills for designing educational software in computer curriculum for the education of fifth level university female students.

The study used the descriptive method (analytical) and the experimental approach with semi-experimental design.

The study sample included (60) female students in bachelor degree in the Faculty of Education at Najran University who were divided equally into two groups: the experiment group, which was trained using the augmented reality technology, and the control group, which was trained by the traditional method.

The study tools and materials consisted of list Of Skills for Designing Educational Software, Assessment Card of Educational Software Designing, Cognitive Achievement Test, and the augmented reality technology.

The study concluded to some results, including: there are statistically significant differences in post-measurement for testing the skills of educational software designingin favor of the experimental group, and there are statistically significant differences in the post-measurement of the assessment card for the educational software designingin favor of the experimental group.

Based on the results, the study recommended using augmented reality technology in teaching all curriculum different specialties at the undergraduate level.
