In the past, the security environment in the region witnessed different trends that resulted in a pattern of competition policies between its effective forces according to the traditional equation of balance between them, the most prominent of which was the active powers.(The United States and the Soviet Union), and then (Iran and Saudi Arabia), which changed with the entry of Russia to that equation, as well as many other powers, which made the nature of the current rivalries the main feature of the security system in the region on many of its strategic issues.Many of the active powers of the region have adopted specific and different policies with different issues that abound in the regional system, which was reflected in the emergence of hegemonic policies and multiple axes to confront the paths of the movement of other powers, which found their resonance in a feverish competition for influence, the division of the countries of the region between those conflicting axes, and the building of new alliances that differed From what the region witnessed in the past, which made this environment unstable
