Like most Arab countries, Yemen witnessed major transformations in its political system in 2011.

Amidst the dramatic changes that Yemen witnessed then, a draft proposal of dividing Yemen into regions was put forward to solve its problems, and to move Yemen from a simple unitary system to a federal system.

As a result of the many shortcomings of the territorial division system, it had led to failures and fueled conflicts among Yemeni political forces.

Consequently, war broke out in Yemen.

After six years of war on Yemen, with regional and international involvement, the agenda of these forces has become obvious, aiming to impose a new type of territorial division system of Yemen according to their own interests.
