الملخص EN

This study intends to highlight the nature of social and cultural upbringing and the author's references in entrenching such nature in Arab children oriented theatrical literature.

Serving as a handy educational tool for children, Scholars and researchers have agreed that a theatrical texts represents the utmost form of literary expression for a child.

This is due to the fact that a theatrical text would embrace all common expressive values in all genres of literature, hence playing a key role in portraying children's emotional, intellectual and epistemological conclusions, besides meeting their aesthetic needs.

Accordingly, this study intends to address Arab theater literature destined to children as a reflection of social reality.

It also intends to monitor the cultural, intellectual and social role as an awareness and knowledge factor for children, which will, in turn, guide them towards a sound social upbringing.

The parameters of the spatial study is made possible by selecting models from Arab theatrical anthology where the two samples of the study were represented by Qasim Muhammad's play "the Wooden Boy', and Izz AlDin Jalawji's "The Black Portfolio".

In their studies, both researchers have utilized content analysis approach in their studies.

They have, nonetheless focused on analyzing concepts connected with social and cultural upbringing, and the way it was taken up in theatrical literature in line with the process of child's acquisition of common values, trends and norms in his society; and the standards of social behavior desired therein.

This study may leverage benefits for academic institutions concerned with literature and theater and educational studies, as well as benefiting those who are involved in theater such as authors, directors, actors and critics
