The book of al-Muntaqa by Ibn al-Jarud was described by al-Hafiz Ibn Abd al-Barr as saheeh and he followed it in congregation, and al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi stated that his hadiths were never revealed to the degree of al-Hasan except in hadiths in which the views of the critics differed and he followed his saying, and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar mentioned that it is like the extract on Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah and followed on what he said.

So there was a need for an applied research that defines the relationship of the chosen one with the books of al-Sahih and al-Sunan, especially the book of Ibn Khuzaymah, and whether it is an independent book or is it a supplementary secondary book, in an applied study, and it ended with the following results: - Al-Muntaqa is an independent book and it is closer to the books of Sunan than to the books of Sahih.

- Al-Muntaqa included many hadiths that are not in Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, so it is not an extract from Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah.

- The selection included many hadiths that were not reported by any of the imams companions of the Sahih: Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Hibban.

- The closest of the books of origins related to the chosen one is Sunan Abi Dawood, so most of the hadiths of the chosen one are published in it.

- Jurisprudence in the book is hidden; The author of the choice did not divide most of his book into chapters, but he arranged his hadiths in a consistent, classified manner, and he did not translate them into a chapter.

Ibn Al-Jaroud's association with his companion Ibn Khuzaymah in many of his sheikhs led to the perception that his book was an extract on the Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah according to the great Hafiz Ibn Hajar.
