According to Taha Abdurrahman, the relationship between Philosophy and Translation is interstitial and contradictory, as Philosophy contradicts with Translation in four aspects: The rationality of Philosophy and the ideology of Translation, the universality of Philosophy and the specificity of translation, the meaningfulness of Philosophy and translation's reliance on words, and finally the dependence of Philosophy and independence of Translation.

It is required, says the writer of “The Science of Philosophy” to remove these said differences in order to correct the relationship, which would prove beneficial to both sides in terms of creativity and productivity, before this process is completed, it is necessary as Taha Abdurrahman says, to look upon what some modernist philosophers and translators have said about the existence of an essentialist approach between Philosophy and Translation.

Let it be clear to all that many thinkers and philosophers of the modern age have taken interest in Translation, regardless of their different flows, among the most known are Heidegger, Gadamer, Willard Van Orman Quine, Wittgenstein, Derrida, Foucault, and Michel Serres; That interest was mutual, as many linguistics and Translators took interest in Philosophy and its interference with the problematic of Translation, despite their many opinions and different flows, among these are Meschonnic and Berman, and before them the German writer and critic Walter Benjamin.

Taha Abdurrahman believes that the relationship between Philosophy and Translation may bear four different forms: Translation of Philosophy, Philosophy of Translation, Philosophical Translation, and Translative Philosophy, and the question here is: which way will accomplish a gathering of the identity of Philosophy and the identity of Translation in the minds of these thinkers, and how far will it go in ending the contradiction between Philosophy and Translation.
