The study aimed to identify the succession planning of leaders in the Ministry of Education and its relationship to job performance from the viewpoint of school principals in Amman and Zarqa governorates.

The study used the relational descriptive approach, whereby the study sample consisted of (468) principals and principals from the principals of public schools in Amman and Zarqa governorates, who were chosen by the stratified random method.

The results showed that the degree of succession planning for leaders in the Ministry of Education from the point of view of school principals in Amman and Zarqa governorates was moderate with mean totalling (3.55).

The level of job performance for administrators in the Ministry of Education from the viewpoint of school managers in Amman and Zarqa governorates was moderate as well with mean totalling (3.42).

Furthermore, there was a positive correlation relationship with statistical significance between the degree of succession planning for leaders in the Ministry of Education and the job performance of administrators.

The study recommended that the Ministry of Education should pay more attention to the succession plans of leaders through the formation of specialized work teams for that.

Moreover, ensuring the preparation of employees and provide them with leadership skills in a manner that qualifies them To assume future leadership positions by holding training courses on an ongoing basis
