The study aimed to identify the role of technological vigilance in achieving performance excellence in Saudi universities from a strategic perspective - by applying to King Khalid University.

King Khalid in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which numbered 322 individuals.

As for the study sample, a random sample was selected from the study population, whose size amounted to (178) individuals.

The study concluded several results, most notably that the level of technological alertness at King Khalid University is generally high.

The market technological vigilance ranked first, followed by the competitive technological vigilance, and finally the information technology vigilance, and that the level of reality of excellence in performance at King Khalid University was generally high, as it revealed the existence of a positive and strong moral correlation with statistical significance between the three types of technological vigilance and performance excellence at the University King Khalid, and that there is a statistically significant effect at the level of significance (5%) for technological vigilance on performance excellence at the University of King Khalid, the researcher also recommended the need for Saudi universities to take into account the use of technological vigilance when carrying out strategic planning, and to strengthen the practice of technological vigilance, especially informational vigilance and the ability to continuously and regularly analyze patents; Being the least practiced in the university, it is the most influential in achieving performance excellence in Saudi universities.
